Memberships at the Y are more than just swim lessons, it includes access to an abundance of drop-in activities for the whole family. Every weekday evening and Saturday mornings we have something for everyone and no registration is required! Programming is led by Y staff and includes everything from arts & crafts to dance, soccer to floor hockey, badminton to basketball, dodgeball to pickleball and everything in between!  Activities are available for young children as well as youth and the whole family and will vary by branch.

Not yet a member? No worries! Everyone is welcome to enjoy our drop-in activities with a daily drop-in pass.  Family rates and 10-visit passes are also available. 

Preschool (3-5 yrs)

Spark your child's imagination and creativity through storytelling. This class features a selected story read for the group accompanied with a craft that ties into the story. Kids get the chance to practice fine motor coordination, build confidence and gain self-esteem. 

This fun-filled class will encourage your child’s imagination and creative expression using dance, rhythm and music. A great way to play actively while building confidence in a group.

Join us for Family Fun drop-in activities! Come to the Y and bounce away in the inflatable bouncers, take a run through an obstacle course, shoot some hoops in our lowered baskets and more! Bring your swimsuit and enjoy our recreational swim times as well!

It's fun, active and exciting! With age-appropriate obstacle courses and interactive activities, this circuit-based program is designed to enhance fundamental movement skills and develop physical literacy. With an emphasis on play, this program provides children with the building blocks to lead active, healthy lives. 

Bring some socks and let the little ones enjoy climbing and crawling through indoor play structures.  Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. Available at Elmwood-Kildonan, South and West Portage locations.

Bring the little ones to enjoy some age-appropriate physical activities in our gym!  Smaller bouncy castle, mini obstacle course and preschool toys will be available for families to enjoy.  Open to children 0-5 years of age.

This unstructured swim time is perfect for all ages and includes both the shallow family pools and deeper main pools.  Please review Admission Guidelines.

Come play the world’s most popular sport indoors!  Play in the gymnasium while learning the rules and receiving basic instruction. A great way to get moving and meet others while building confidence and teamwork skills.

Enjoy preschool fun with the little ones

Children (6-12 yrs)

Your child will explore their creative side in this fun session. They will have the opportunity to use a variety of mediums and create a daily craft or art project to take home. 

Our badminton program will teach the fundamentals of badminton through fun, interactive play and activities that promote physical fitness, and coordination.

Learn the latest viral dances and moves in this fun, drop-in dance class! Each class will be different as the instructor introduces a variety of dance forms and teaches you to move in a group and synchronize to the beat. Grab a friend and join us as we explore the joy of dance and the latest dance moves! 

Quick, duck! Give your kid a chance to be active while having a laugh through the game of dodgeball. Kids will keep moving and hone their reflexes while playing various renditions of this classic game.

Pick-up team sport full of passing, running, and throwing while trying to score on the opposing goalkeeper. A great way to get moving and meet others while building confidence and teamwork skills. 

Choose your own adventure! Each week will bring a new, exciting activity as well as unstructured time designed to appeal to your child’s curiosity! They can pick between a variety of activities in one session, such as board games, crafts, lego, building blocks, colouring, beadwork, puzzles, books and more! 

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn!
